What will you do in the next 30 days?
This September, we’re focusing on getting #backtocool and establishing healthy new routines after a long fun summer! Now, we know what you’re thinking. Doing the same thing day after day is definitely not as much fun as sipping on poolside cocktails… but, we have some have some news that may make it easier to put down the piña coladas and get back in the studio!
At uforia, we think the best way to work towards a new routine and establish new habits is by committing to a goal and sticking with it for 30 days. Research shows that creating a routine not only provides structure but leads to a decrease in stress and an increase in productivity. Less stress + getting more shi!t done? Sign us up! We tried our hand at a 30 day challenge this summer with the 20 Classes in 30 Days #SummerofSweat Challenge.
We caught up with uforia Crew member Sabine to get the inside scoop on what it was like to take a 30 day challenge.
Fun, sweaty, sometimes exhausting, and okay, this is going to sound cheesy, but like a mini self discovery journey. I learned a lot about myself and how my brain works at staying motivated.
It was also a great lesson in the importance of planning! I planned out 4 weeks of my summer–not any easy feat with weekend trips and friends coming into town. To get in my full 20 classes, I had to shake up my routine and take classes in the early morning and later at night. Shaking it up was awesome because I got to sweat with whole new groups of people and hang out with different uforia Rockstars!
What motivated you to keep up your 20 classes in 30 days?
Those who know me best know I love a good challenge. I’m pretty competitive–even with myself–so tallying up my class count each day was a little addicting. By relishing every tally mark, I celebrated each class like a small victory! It kept me from getting too daunted by how many classes I still had to take. Plus, since a bunch of us on the uforia Crew took the #summerofsweat pledge together, I had friends to both sweat and commiserate with along my way. My support system helped me stay excited and committed.
Be real with yourself! Know that each day will be different and you won’t always feel motivated. Some days you’ll feel like a badass but on others you’ll feel less inspired.
Know that when they say, “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey” they’re preaching the truth. The best part of a challenge is watching yourself succeed a little bit everyday. Even if you don’t meet your goal in the end, you’ve grown and become stronger in your own way!
Now it’s your turn! Are you ready to get #backtocool and take on a 30 day challenge? Think about something you have always wanted to try and DO IT!
