You’ve seen her contagious smile, heard her motivational howl and “ooooo-ed” and “awww-ed” at her impressive gymnastics in class, but we wanted to know a bit more about our spunky little sprite of a Zumba teacher, Asya Ramizova. If you’re as curious as we were, read below for some insight into how she gets all her energy. We learned: a simple smile goes a long way!

How did you become interested in teaching Zumba?
I love exercising and I love latin dance. Five yeras ago, I attended a Zumba class, which is a combination of exercising with Latin dance, and I fell in love with it. That’s how I started teaching Zumba.
You’re a favorite Zumba teacher because of your amazing high-energy classes – not to mention the occasional back flip! – how do maintain your energy?
I think my classes are full with energy because when I hear the music and when I see all the smiling people in my class, all I want to do is dance and have fun with everyone in the room. This motivates me a lot and my energy level goes so high that I want to do a back flips all the time! I just like to see my students happy 🙂
What makes your Zumba classes different from others?
I think my classes are different because of the high energy (I don’t like to rest – even for a second). Also, I love to smile all the time and pass it to my students. The connection between me and the students is very special and this makes a big difference in a Zumba class.
How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle?
I think that I maintain a healthy lifestyle because of my job. The main thing is to exercising and have a healthy diet. I also get a good sleep, at least 8 hours every night. I’ve found that to be very important.
We all need a little cheat-cheat from time to time, so what’s your favorite indulgence?
Milk chocolate with hazelnuts.
What are three things that people may not know about you or would be surprised to learn about you?
1. I love to watch TV on a split screen
2. I drink my coffee cold every morning
3. I love to read about health and wellness all the time
If you had to describe yourself in one word, it would be:
